Counselling for Women, Adolescents and Kids

Welcome to

Nancy Kruys Counselling

Palmwoods & Cooroy Area

A Warm and Supportive Place for Everyone

I work with children, teenagers, and women facing big feelings, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, grief, family changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes reaching out is the hardest step, and that's okay. Counselling offers a calm, safe space to gently understand what's happening and find steady, practical ways forward, for your child or for yourself.

My name is Nancy Kruys, a counsellor with a Master of Counselling. My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and grounded in safety, because feeling safe is the foundation for meaningful change. With children, I use play, art, clay, and sensory materials to help them express and process emotions in ways that go beyond words. For teenagers and women, I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to talk, reflect, and build resilience at your own pace. I also support neurodiverse children and young people, including those with ADHD and ASD, and welcome NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants.

Reach out anytime, whether you have questions about the process, costs, or simply want to know if we're a good fit. Affordable fees, no waiting lists, and support that starts when you're ready.

Children

Through play, art or clay children can safely express and explore their emotions. For children who are neurodiverse or trauma exposed, therapeutic sensory play can help calming the nervous system and can create calm and balance.

Adolescents

Express yourself through art, music, clay, roleplay, or just talking.

Women

A safe and supportive space to heal, rebuild strength, and reconnect with your inner self.

I warmly welcome children, teenagers, and women from all walks of life, including those:

  • Navigating big feelings like anxiety, sadness, or anger

  • Experiencing emotional regulation difficulties

  • Impacted by stress, trauma, or family violence

  • Wanting to build self-esteem, confidence, or resilience

  • Seeking support with social or communication challenges

  • Living with disabilities, including neurodivergent children (e.g., autism, ADHD)

  • Needing a safe, creative space for healing and self-expression

  • Grieving a loss or experiencing the impact of significant life changes (e.g., death of a loved one, divorce, or separation)

How Sessions Work

I provide a client-centred and child-led approach. People can choose if they would like to have a traditional talk therapy session or would like to use art, clay or other creative tools within their session.

  • Child and client-led approach: Activities are personalised to each individual’s needs, ensuring people feel empowered and in control.

  • Sensory stimulation: Through simple, hands-on experiences like using clay or shaving foam, children settle, explore, and reconnect with their bodies.
Texture, movement, and playful touch help the nervous system find calm and balance.

  • Creative expression: No creative mind is needed! Using paint or clay can help people express feelings that may be hard to express in words.

  • Building resilience and confidence: Creative methods can help build problem-solving skills, self-reflection, and confidence to cope with challenges like trauma, stress, or low self-esteem.

  • Support for all ages: Whether working with children, teenagers, or women, I provide a supportive environment to explore and strengthen emotional well-being.

My approach is especially helpful for those who have faced trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, sensory needs, life transitions, anxiety, stress and overwhelm, grief or self-esteem challenges.

Sessions are available in-person, by phone, video, or chat—whatever feels most comfortable for you.
